In the effervescent urban jungle of São Paulo, a flower has bloomed, a tulip to be precise. With her fluid melodies, high voice and nuanced delivery, Tulipa is a quintessential representative of this new generation of Brazilian artists who are just as adept drawing on the rich past as they are creating innovation. Surrounded by her peers and special guests, including singer Mariana Aydar, Tulipa makes tropical pop with Impressionistic flourishes, touches of blues, rock and electro and a knowing innocence. The songs have an almost lullaby quality, infused with a sweet, intimate air. Efêmera has had a huge impact in Brazil, and this album is very fresh and seductive indeed.
